While professionals often lean towards bubble wrap, Styrofoam peanuts and tons of paper to help wrap things when packing, there are some interesting methods that people are using on their own. There is no right or wrong packing material to use, as long as its goal is achieved: ensuring that the items are protecting during the move! With we have rounded up some of those more interesting packing methods to share…you never know when you may use these for your next move!
- Use socks to help with securing stemware in a box. And it also packs your socks…huge plus!
- Use Styrofoam plates in between your dishes to help offer protection.
- If you can, slide a garbage bag over your hanging items and then tie the bag around the hanger. It makes unpacking super simple! Be sure to check with your moving company about whether this would be allowed or not.
- If you are moving your makeup with other items, put cotton balls into the compacts so that they do not break.
- Organize cords with empty toilet paper rolls.
- Books go great into suitcases, since suitcases can hold much more than a box.
- Place screws and the like in sandwich bags so that they do not get lose.
- Seal wrap or saran wrap can be great to simply wrap those utensils into a bunch so that they are not lost.
- Remember, any towel, blanket or clothing item can substitute for packing protection rather than bubble wrap.
- Got the room to store boxes? Many people are keeping original boxes for certain products. This way if they ever move, they have all they need right there!
