This is probably one of the more common moving FAQ that is going around right now. With gas prices being a huge topic throughout the news, not only locally, but nationally as well, many people are questioning whether this will mean an increase in their moving expenses.
As with everything else, when the gas prices increase, moving costs increase. When it takes more to fill our trucks to get your items to your new home, then this cost is going to be offset to the customer. The good news is that once you lock in your rate with us, this is not going to change, even if we see a $.79 or more increase in gas prices in the past two weeks, like what we have currently seen. That is one of the best reasons as to why you want to reserve your moving date asap.
So, how can you help your final moving price even with gas prices soaring throughout the United States? For one, be sure that you are allowing for a higher moving budget. Luckily, when you call us for a quote and we see what you are needing to move, we can give you a quote that you can fit into your budget with ease.
You will also find that your move will cost less if you have less items to move. When you are wanting to offset the higher prices due to gas, then it may be worth your time to look into getting rid of items that you no longer need or want.
While none of us can control the cost of gas…though we all wish that we could, Quality Moving & Storage is doing our best to ensure that you are aware of pricing, ways to lower this moving expense, and other elements. We want to be upfront with the issue and assure you that your move will be handled with expertise!
